Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Shrine is located at the historic “Cathedral of the
Osage” - Immaculate Conception Catholic Church - on the site of the former
Catholic School in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Pawhuska is 57 miles north of Tulsa at
the edge of the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, just south of the Kansas State
line.

Shrine Area and Landscaping
Ground breaking for major landscaping occurred in Fall 2005.

9-Foot Bronze Statue
There will be access for visitors to walk around the statue to achieve an
interactive feeling. Water will be flowing over rocks directly behind the
statue of Kateri.

The Iron Cross
An Iron Cross that was designed by Native American artist Cha Tullis is located
at the Shrine site. The design of the Cross incorporates symbols for the
Trinity and a crown of thorns and is presented in a Native American theme that
includes feathers.
