Welcome to the Kateri Shrine of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. We are a group of lay people
attempting to build a shrine in honor of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, Lily of the
Mohawk. Our goal is to reach out to those who hold a special place in their
heart for Kateri. That they may follow along our path as we develop a
world-class shrine.

Through her intercession, a former parishioner and fellow Native American, was
healed of cancer _____. Her name was Opal Rector and her introduction to
Blessed Kateri gave her ____ more years of healthful living and brought her
back into the Church. Opal passed away on May __, 2002. It was her desire to
have a shrine honoring the Lily of the Mohawk in her hometown of Pawhuska.

We invite you to explore this site and discover the beautiful memorial we are
building in hopes of furthering Kateri’s canonization cause and providing a
venue for others to witness her glory.

We hope you enjoy your visit.

Prayer to the Lily of the Mohawks Blessed Kateri, You are revered as the Mystic
of the American wilderness. Though orphaned at the age of four, And left with a
scarred face and Damaged eyesight from illness, You were esteemed among the
Mohawk tribe. When you asked to be baptized a Christian You subjected yourself
To abuse by your people And were forced to run away. You endured many trials,
but Still flowered in prayer and holiness, Dedicating yourself totally to
Christ. I ask you to be my spiritual guide Along my journey through life.
Through your intercession, I pray that I may always be loyal To my faith in all
things. Amen Feast Day: July 14

Prayer for Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
|
|
“O God, who, among the many marvels of Your grace in the New World, did cause
to blossom on the banks of the Mohawk and of the St. Lawrence, the pure and
tender lily, Kateri Tekakwitha, grant we beseech You, the favor we beg through
her intercession, that this young lover of Jesus and His cross may soon be
counted among the Saints of Holy Mother Church, and that our hearts may be
enkindled with a stronger desire to imitate her innocence and her faith.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”
