The hands of the statue are extended to convey the feeling a calling the viewer as a symbol to “come to Christ." The right hand is extended to represent reaching out to the viewer to come and accept Christ. The left hand is holding a cross of the rosary in a pose that represents offering the cross to the viewer. A rosary is around the neck and extends from the chest to the hand where the cross is offered to the viewer.

The Shrine will have walking paths and seating areas for quiet and prayer. Visitors can walk around the heroic size statue to afford an open and interactive experience. The Kateri Shrine organization will host community-based programs to help the needy and carry forward the message of love and calling of service to others.

Those who donate $3,000 will receive a 14-inch bronze statue as recognition of their donation. The proceeds from donations will finance construction of the Shine.

For those who contribute less than $3,000 will have a chance to receive a 14-inch bronze statue. A drawing for a statue will be held when a group of donors contribute a total of $3,000. For each donation of $30 there will be a chance to receive a fine art bronze statue of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha.
